History of the Institution
The Institution established on 07/04/1993 for the Diploma in Elementary Education Course with the NCTE recognition for the intake 50 (General Section). Additional Intake of 50 for SC/ST sections was given by NCTE by 1997. In the past 20 years nearly 2000 trainers had been trained with the sufficient teaching skills and nearly 55-60% trainers were obtained the Diploma at the time of the leaving the Institution.

Mission and Objectives
Strengthening the Pre - service education by the current trends for the need of future teachers and enhancing the quality of education in the district by the suitable In-service training.
Significant Achievements, if any
Three of the faculty qualified as Doctorates and three more writing for the Ph. D. degree.
Contributions in the field of Education
(i) Our DIET, two faculty served as the author of the D.El.Ed course - Teaching of Mathematics
(ii) Our DIET three faculty served as the reviewer of the Tamil Nadu textbooks in Mathematics for classes III, IV, V & amp; VI.
(iii) Our DIET, six faculty served as the author of various In service training teacher modules.
 (iv) Multi Media lessons were
prepared at School and D.El.Ed level in Mathematics & Science.
(v) our DIET Faculty done several
action researches & projects at various levels.
Any other information
Virtual Class rooms and EDUSAT facility were create in the DIET and is
found to be in consistent use at all levels of education.
